Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong left his family and friends this morning.

When I first heard about it I was utterly shocked. I actually forgot about my office phone number (which I repeated every single day) when I was on the phone with someone this morning. I practically mumbled some wrong numbers repeatedly to the person over the phone. In the end, I had to refer to my name card to get the correct number.
Why? Not that I’m related or know Late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong personally. This has got nothing to do with me at all and many people pass away everyday.
Well, maybe because he reminds me of the time I lost my grandpa 3 years ago, and maybe because he was indeed my friends’ grandpa.
Though I have only heard about his legendary story from bit & pieces (didn’t buy his biography) but he is no doubt a great inspiration to all. It is an awesome lifetime achievement for a person who didn’t get much education and traveled all the way from China to a foreign place.
I respect him for what he did and admire him from the bottom of my heart for his foresight of the achievement of the Empire that he has built single-handedly, Genting Hihglands.
Gone is the body, but his Great Spirit will lives on… and his story will be told from generation to generation.
My deepest condolences to his family. May you rest in peace, Tan Sri!

What I've Done?!?
Have not put up any post for slightly more than a week...hmmm...wonder if anyone misses reading my post??? (Hehehe...I know it's very unlikely but no harm for me to dream a little) :P
Where I've been? How come I didn't post anything for so many days? Well....I was actually reading a book that consists of 4 books in one volume. It’s a special ‘Select Editions’ by Reader’s Digest (RD).
They are:
- The Ambler Warning by Robert Ludlum –Hidden on a remote island is a top-secret facility housing former US intelligence operatives who present a security risk to their government. One of them escapes – only to find that every detail of his past has been erased. On the run, he uncovers a high-level conspiracy to bring about a major shift in the balance of world power.

Wonder any of you ever read their books? I never heard of them until I received this book from RD. At first I was so happy you know coz I subscribed to RD 1-year issues so I thought they’ve given me this book @ F.O.C.
Just when I’ve read about 80%, RD sent me a ‘Reminder’ and asked me to pay up. @^#^%#!? I don’t recall seeing any bill earlier also. I've finished reading it yesterday so can I return the book now? Can I not pay?
Err…..I was just joking alright. It only cost RM29.90 for 4 books man. Of course I’ll pay. Those are good novels and I’d love to keep it. And I'll certainly look out for more books by the above authors.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!!!
My best wishes go out to all Muslims & Non-Muslims who are celebrating in Malaysia and around the world!!!
As a Malaysian and grew up in a multiracial country, I do feel the excitement of celebrating Raya besides the CNY & Christmas.
I always enjoy the fun of going to 'Open House' for all the delicious rendang and kuih-muih. That's also the best time to catch up with family & friends. :)
Coming from a family where relatives with mixed-racial marriages (I have cousins & friends married to Japanese, Indian, Malay & other races), I really see no reason for not joining all the festive seasons celebrated by other races, as they too, are part of my FAMILY. :)

Where Are Your Consciences?!?
Something disheartens me today.
I have a friend who got married about 1 ½ years ago. Just gave birth to a baby girl about 1 ½ months ago, a first time mom.
Imagine right after she gave birth during her confinement, she has to endure all the mental torments. Instead of getting love, care and support from her family, she has to put up with all the silent treatment, cold shoulder and isolation from the people closest to her.
All these…..thanks to the long time rivalry between her mom and her mom in-law. Both families are from the same town and both the mothers never see eye to eye in their life. Things were put to rest after the two families bound by their children marriage, but somehow, her mom again stirred things up once again and all the ugly past are being dug out again.
It is something between the mothers and it should not drag the children along. For people as old as their mother & mom in-law, they rather risk to destroy their children’s marriage & family than to patch things up & let by-gone be by-gone for the sake of their children. How selfish can a mother be?
The worst thing is my friend’s husband is totally not supportive or understanding at all. He and his mom insisted that my friend and her mom are all set to make their life miserable and the most sickening part is, he asked for a divorce because of this sort of stupid things between the mothers.
Do you all not have hearts for compassion or brains to think rationally? Or you simply neither have both?
Husband, how lightly do you take your marriage with your wife? Someone you swore to love and care at all time? Because of the conflict between your mom and her mom, and you are letting go your marriage, your family just like that?!?!
Is bad enough that my friend acknowledge that it was her mom’s fault who started all these again, but there’s nothing much she can do as she’d already tried her best to talked to her mom try to sort things out. Likewise, you cannot go against your mom for your wife sake also. But, you as a husband, for you to behave like what you are now, don’t you think it’s rather childish? You are a husband & a father for God sake!
And as a father, you had the nerve to tell your wife that you would not help to take care of your own daughter because your work is very busy??? Who is not busy with their works? You want to have kid, no matter how busy you are, it is your obligation to share the responsibility in taking care of your child!
People get married for many different reasons, e.g. love, money, security, partner, children, family pressure, etc. What were yours?
As an outsider, I will not comment much about other people marriage but this incident has really sadden me, thus I had to post it out and release my anger & sadness.
I do hope that they can work things out ASAP. Please don’t treat your marriage so lightly! Think twice before you do anything you might regret later.

I was writing a very long post and when I was about to post....DAMN.....the whole thing disppeared!!! All the contents that I've typed in the span of 3 days...*Pooff* ALL GONE!!!
Why I didn't learn my lesson?!?! I should have typed and saved it in MS-Word instead of typing directly in the post.
Really, this is what people call 'Cry also no tears'.... I'm very piss off now... DAMN!!!!

Pray for the best
Yes, I've started my countdown to year 2008 already.
Well, I certainly look forward to a bright new year for a bright new start.
Generally, I would not say 2007 is all bad for me but it certainly would have been better if not because of the silly accident I had at home before CNY that caused me to be wheel-chair-bound & house-bound for half a year. So much could have been done in 6 moths, man.
As of today, it only left 2 months and 27 days to 2008 and don't think it's still a long way more, my friend. There's only one more week to Hari Raya, next will be Deepavali, then comes the most anticipated Christmas, and before you can recover from all the jolly Christmas songs & great food, there comes the NEW YEAR of 2008.
I pray for the best in year 2008. I want to travel to a few places with my hubby. And for the start, we'll be going to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The place where I was made and born and spent my life during the first couple of years. I've never go back since I came to KL, so this will be the first time I ever get to see the place where I came from.
I sure look forward for many good things to happen next year...well....call it my intuition, six sense or anything, but I really have a good feeling about it!
So, 2008! Please come faster. I promise I'll do something different to welcome your arrival (coz usually I'd just stay at home for the countdown).
