Waterproof is not enough…

These days the market is swamped with all the ‘waterproof’ mascara which promises to stay put where it won't run, smear or smudge and a quick-dissolve system that helps in easy removal.

I’ve tried a few brands of mascara myself and I would say most of the waterproof mascara is doing quite a fair job on normal circumstances when you don’t sweat or cry per say.

‘Waterproof’ should not be the only agent found in mascara. Seriously, how often do we splash our face with water when we have our make up on (besides when we are ready to remove the makeup) or running around in the rain? The more likelihood for our eyes to get in touch with water compound would be either sweat or tears. Hence, mascara should be made tear-proof & sweat-proof as well.

Because I’m sure all the ladies out there would agree with me that no matter how expensive the mascara is and how good the brand claimed their mascara in waterproofing, the very fact is the moment you sweat or especially when you cry you’ll have Panda-eyes in no time.

This is because water in general contains minerals while tear fluid contains chemicals like lipids &
urea and sweat (also called Perspiration) contains various dissolved solids (chiefly chlorides), odorants 2-methylphenol (o-cresol) and 4-methylphenol (p-cresol), which are stronger solvent than the water itself.

I’m not sure the scientists have the above in mind when they formulate the waterproof mascara but base on the experience, I have not found one that can resist sweat or tears.

I’m not sure if it is viable to make the mascara tear-proof and sweat-proof, but if it does it will be good news for the ladies.

It Ain't That Kind Of Diary...

I don't know these days if anyone still write diary coz i think more and more people are blogging online these days.

I used to have a small little diary with all my little naughty secrets during my teenage years, but I have long destroyed it for my own good. ;) LOLs...

Writing a diary is something personal, it's something between yourself and the little 'black' book. On the other hand, blogging is a very open and public thing where you write about things you don't mind to share with others. Because it is so open, you can't really blog about your secrets (not unless you go anonymous) coz seriously unless you are some porn star or someone who do not care about anything, you wouldn't want people to know about your dark secrets which will affect your public image.

You don't see people writing about their sex adventure, criminal experience and etc. publicly with their real identity or picture in their site coz there are many people in their lives need to be protected apart from themselves. They can only do it anonymously so no one know who are the real person behind all the exciting (and could be offensive) stories.

I have never dare to write anything and everything in my mind coz I know some issues are very sensitive and I might get myself into trouble if it is publish on the net. No doubt we could argue that it is our blog and there is freedom of speech, but reality sings a different tune. That's why I end up sometimes not updating my blog for a long time coz I've filtered a lot and only share what I think is safe to share.

But I think blogging is more fun, anonymous or not, coz you get to share your views with others and sometimes you might get some really constructive opinions from different people perspectives and that help us to widen our mindset and the way we see things in life. :)
