A series of unfortunate events.....

One of my colleague, J, been having really bad luck one after another last week.

Another colleague of my, C, received a phone call from J about 4:00pm ++ on Friday and was informed that J's condo unit caught in fire and he was really panic & didn't what to do. One of our manager and C rushed over to help J's immediately. But, luckily the unit was not badly burn, only the living hall area but basically the whole house was blackened by the smoke thus J couldn't stay in his unit. He has to stay at his friend's house at the time being until everything restore back to normal.

And then on Saturday (the day after his house incident), he was involved in a car accident that involved 2 cars and 1 lorry. He managed to braked on time when the front car jam-brake but he was just so unlucky that the lorry behind him couldn't stop on time, banged his car and the forced pushed his car to the front and he knocked into the front car.

He was just so unlucky. I hope after these two incidents, his luck will take a 180 degrees turn. Come to think of it, ever since he join our companies, his car has been constantly break down. Could there be due to the bad 'Qi' in our office?

All of us really sympathised him as he does not have many friends in KL. So, colleagues are mainly the people he can get help from. We are all trying to contribute some money to help him restore his home and hope that his luck will change for good after that.

Principles of Life

* Winning isn't everything. But wanting to win is.
* You would achieve more, if you don't mind who gets the credit.
* When everything else is lost, the future still remains.
* Don't fight too much. Or the enemy would know your art of war.
* The only job you start at the top is when you dig a grave.
* If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything.
* If you do little things well, you'll do big ones better.
* Only thing that comes to you without effort is old age.
* You won't get a second chance to make the first impression.
* Only those who do nothing do not make mistakes.
* Never take a problem to your boss unless you have a solution.
* If you are not failing you're not taking enough risks.
* Don't try to get rid of bad temper by losing it.
* If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
* Those who don't make mistakes usually don't make anything
* There are two kinds of failures. Those who think and never do, and those who do and never think.
* Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.
* All progress has resulted from unpopular decisions.
* Change your thoughts and you change your world.
* Understanding proves intelligence, not the speed of the learning.
* There are two kinds of fools in this world. Those who give advise and those who don't take it.
* The best way to kill an idea is to take it to a meeting.
* Management is doing things right. Leadership is doing the right things.
* Friendship founded on business is always better than business founded on friendship.

* Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.
* Laugh as much as you breathe and love as long as you live.
* If you wait to do everything until you're sure it's right, you'll probably never do much of anything.
* One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure its worth watching.

AN EYE OPENER

Read the following from somewhere about two days ago and find it very meaningful, thus I decided to share it with everyone. Hope you enjoy reading it and hope it inspires you as it did to me.

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written: "Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym".
In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.
The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!".
One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul.
There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.
There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: "There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU."
So my dear friends, You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself.
Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life.
"The most important relationship you can have, is the one you have with yourself"
Examine yourself, watch yourself. Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: be a winner, build yourself and your reality.
The world is like a mirror: it gives back to anyone the reflection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed.
The world and your reality are like mirrors laying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success.
It's the way you face Life that makes the difference

SPAM, VIRUS,SPYWARE

Sigh..... I've been receiving some funny comments in my blog. Out of courtesy, I was just trying to clik on their link to go into their blog as they have visited my blog.

It turn out to be some Spyware & virus sorts of stuff. So sickening.

Please, if anyone leave you a message and put in some link which you are not sure where it leads to, don't bother to click on it coz it might turn out to be some viruses that will harm your PC.

I'm not sure those comments wih the spywares were posted intentinally or it was self generate by the virus itself. But, whatever it is, just be more careful when you want to click on any link.

How far twisting balloons has come.....

I believe almost all of us have seen in those shopping mall where there's a stall selling all these twisting balloons in the shapes of poodles, flowers, swords, guns, teddy bears and etc.

However, some people have bring twisting balloons into another level. They've made use of balloons to create different costumes for the models. Look how gorgeous some of the balloons costumes are. :)

Really admire the creativity and talents of these people.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Rudy from Hitz.fm actually declared the Valentine's Day as SAD (Single Awareness Day) yesterday. Hahaha...how sad...don't have to be like that lah, Rudy! :P

Anyway, I would like to say to EVERYONE that whether you are single, seeing someone or married, Valentine's Day is not only a special day for those people with a partner/lover. It is a day for ALL who loved and being loved.
Keith & I had a pre-Valentine celebration last night to avoid the crowd today. We went to the Japanese restaurant called Kura in One World Hotel. I would say the food rating is 8/10, their service is prompt and prices are also not too expensive. I would recommend you to try it. :)

We took some pics of the food we ordered but sadly the night mode of our handphone's camera not that clear so the pics don't look that nice, but I decided to just post it anyway.

This is cool

Not sure what was this all about but it was so cool..... Enjoy!

What Happened???

Hmmm.... this year CNY seems like very quiet and very different from the pasr for us, coz most of our friends are either went back to hometown or away for holiday, so till today still have no chance to gamble with friends.

So far, we have spent the past fews days with family & relatives and it was really nice though.

The past few days, KL was sort of deserted and mostly swamped with foreign workers near Petaling Street & Pudu Raya areas. Shopping malls located at the Golden Triangle area like Sg. Wang, Berjaya Time Square & Pavillion were still packed with our local people but food was a real big problem for everyone on the first 3 days of CNY coz almost all chinese restaurants were closed.

After 4 days of holiday, tomororw have to go back to work.....sigh.....feeling a bit lazy...... zzz

Gong Hei Fatt Choy!!!

So far ever since we've entered year 2008, the future seems really promising to Keith & I coz there have been a series of great things happening to us one after another.

We know these are the blessings from our Almighty God and we are truly thankful for His love, blessings and guidance in our lives.

The most important thing is always think positive and be optimistic in everything you do, then naturally you'll attract all the good karma and things will work out well eventually.

As this is the first day of CNY, hence I would like to wish everyone,

All The Best and May All Your Dreams Come True!

Catch-22

We can’t choose which family to be born in, we can’t choose which primary & secondary schools to go to, we can’t really decide which college or what subject to study (if financial is a concern), besides that, we are pretty much on our own to make other decisions in our life.

Everyday we have to make choices from little things like what to wear to work, what to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner, which road do I prefer to get to destination A, what movie to watch, where to go for shopping, to bigger things like what car to buy, which house to buy, how to design the house, when to get married, whether to have children or not, what job to apply and whether to take up a new job offer.

We can afford to make mistakes in many little things in life, e.g. if you try out a new restaurant and the food & service sucks, you just don’t visit that restaurant anymore, or if you chosen a bad movie, fine, you just wasted your 2 hours and RM10.00, no big deal, however, there are many decisions, the bigger decisions in life with bigger risk and consequences that you can’t just shrug it off.

Life itself is a huge CASINO. Everything in our lives is a gamble. We take the risks in making choices and we certainly need courage & sense of responsibility to face the consequences. We placed our bets in many things in life and we pray & hope that all things would turn out fine. The bigger the risk, the bigger the reward we would get, but sometimes things are not as simple as that.

Some decisions are solely personal and it would only affect our self, however, like it or not there are inevitable decisions we make in life would affect other people around us. Some decisions might jeopardise our relationship with other people. As much as we hate to do so, sometimes we have to make the decision even it risks to lose the things that are important to us.

Keith & I decided to get married after we known each other & courted for only 6 months (we knew each other from ICQ, the online chat program). It was a really big risk then as we couldn’t have known each other well in those 6 months. He could have turn out to be a heavy gambler, abuser, alcoholic or womanizer for all I know, and I could be ill-tempered, greedy, pretentious and all. But we went ahead, placed our bets and took the risk coz everything just felt right at that time, thought we know our family and friends were skeptical about it even though they didn’t mentioned anything. But we thank God for everything as things have gone really well for us and after 5 years, we are still going strong. We made the choice, took the risk and it pays off well so far. :D

We can’t escape from making decisions everyday in our life, but when comes to big decision, you’ll have to ask yourself how much sacrifices are you willing to make and how much risks do you dare to take to get the bigger things in life. And if you do make the choice, are you prepared to face the consequences if things don’t turn out as planned?

This is entirely up to you….

*A Life Poem*

Life can seem ungrateful and not always kind.
Life can pull at your heartstrings and play with your mind...
Life can be blissful and happy and free...
Life can put beauty in the things that you see...
Life can place challenges right at your feet...
Life can make good of the hardships we meet...
Life can overwhelm you and make your head spin...
Life can reward those determined to win...
Life can be hurtful and not always fair...
Life can surround you with people who care...
Life clearly does offer its Up and its Downs...
Life's days can bring you both smiles and frowns...
Life teaches us to take the good with the bad...
Life is a mixture of happy and sad...

So...

Take the Life that you have and give it your best...

Think positive, be happy let God do the rest...
Take the challenges that life has laid at your feet...
Take pride and be thankful for each one you meet...
To yourself give forgiveness if you stumble and fall...
Take each day that is dealt you and give it your all...
Take the love that you're given and return it with care...
Have faith that when needed it will always be there...
Take time to find the beauty in the things that you see...
Take life's simple pleasures let them set your heart free...
The idea here is simply to even the score...
As you are met and faced with Life's Tug of War

My Weekend in Penang......

Keith & I just came back from Penang today. We were there since Friday.

Attended an old friend's wedding on Saturday in Bayan Lepas. There was a small but 'big' hiccup at my friend's wedding. You see, the groom's friends (2 guys & 2 girls) were supposed to be there to help them with the registration and usher of the guests but unfortunately they were so irresponsible and they STOOD THE BRIDE & GROOM UP. 4 of them were missing in action and no where to be found. In the end, my friend & her hubby had to tell the guests that it was free seating since they do not have the copy of the seating arrangement with them. Sigh..... I just don't understand what sort of friends these people are..... Unless all 4 of them really had emergencies and really couldn't be there (but then they didn't even bother to call and they were no where to be found), I guessed they MUST have did it on PURPOSE!

But, other than that, the rest of the evening went well and I'm really happy for my friend as she'd found someone who really loves her and pampers her a lot (just the way she likes it). :)

Now back to our experience in Penang. When you go to Penang, surely everyone will go around places and eat the ever so famous local Penang food. But, because neither me nor Keith is familiar with Penang, we ended up to all the wrong places for the food. Needless to say, we came back with disappointment, coz we definitely have tried much nicer Penang Char Koay Teow, Penang Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee), Penang Chu Cheong Fun, Penang Curry Laksa, Penang Asam Laksa in KL/PJ. Keith had Char Koay Teow for all his meals and none of them are clsoe to what we have in PJ. Errkkkk!

We have decided for our next trip, we must drag along friends who are really familiar with Penang and take us around to feast.
