Ingenious Male Toilet

I wish to see these kind of toilets in Malaysia one day. I'm very certain some of the designs would make your wee wee & poo poo time more amusing and enjoyable.

Such wonderful arts and ideas...tsk tsk tsk...
But then again, judging from the way our Malaysian used the public toilets, I think the most can 'tahan' (last) for 3 months. After that, very likely will be abused & vandalised. So, better not waste the money on making the public toilets so nice la...after all...our people aren't that civilised as far as public facilities are concerned.
Sigh....

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

I have a really WEIRD obsession..... I have an obsession with numbers (be it in maths class, watching TV, listening the radio, or in the room). I'm obsessed with even numbers while loathing odd numbers (they cause me a great deal of anxiety and often make me uncomfortable or even angry). But I think my condition is not serious and it is certainly not harmful to myself and others, so far.

One of my most obvious behaviour is when I adjust the TV or radio volume, I MUST tune the volume to EVEN number. Doesn't matter if someone else already tune the volume but as soon as I realised it is not tune to the EVEN number, I'll re-adjust it just to get the EVEN number(s).

I know it's weird (I even have a very weird slang when I say the word 'Weird'). Ask me the next time you see me.

I think things are nicer in pairs, which everything is even. Imagine we only have one eye, one leg, one hand, one ear, one boob...hmmm...how 'odd' would it look? See? Odd is not a good thing.....the odd one out always seem so lonely, so odd!

I also have another obsession, I find it hard to say 'NO' to potatoes. Be it wedges, mash potatoes or fries. I Love Potato! And no wonder I feel like a potato all the time!

What is your obsession then? Share it with me if you have one (or many)!

What the FISH!

What is this???

My new pet gold fish....... it's swimming in my stomach now!
I believe most people have eaten this before. You can always find this kind of plain little biscuits that come in the form of fish, rabbit, piggy, dragon, etc when the lantern festival just around the corner.
During my younger days, my mom used to bought this biscuits for me every year. I like it because it is not sweet, no oily and it is so adorable! Even till these days I still like it a lot.
I've not eaten this biscuits for the passed 4-5 years mainly because after I've got married and stay away from my parents, no one buy for me already. :P
But last year my hubby surprised me one evening with two of these biscuits (there were one rabbit and one fish) and I was overwhelmed. Yes....I'm really easy to pleased..... little gesture as such is good enough to make my day. :)
Of course, I still like the normal mooncakes with the red beans paste and lotus seed paste. For the past few years, I do enjoy the lovely moment where after dinner, my family will all sit around at the front porch, enjoy the mooncakes and chinese tea while feeding the mosquitos as the same time.
But one thing I don't quite understand. Why is the mooncake getting more and more expensive year after year? 1 piece can cost up to RM11.00. Aduh!
But then again...why am I complaining?! I also don't need to buy....I have plenty of free mooncakes to eat every year! Muahahahahahaha.....

There's No Freedom Of Speech After ALL!!!!

You see, when a person have their own blog, they are entitled to write whatever they like, upload any pictures they want, as it is their own space to pour out their thoughts and feeling.

However, it is not the case after all......sigh...

Due to some 'sensitive' issue and family request, I had to edit my earlier blog titled "Happy Family" and removed the family photo that I very much loved to share with everyone.

Well, I'm truly not very happy with this but what to do? I don't want to cause any trouble in the family also.....

BUT I AM VERY GERAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Mamula Moon

Seriously, don't know who copies who also. To me it really doesn't matter anymore, coz we can't be changing our national anthem after singing it for 50 years, right?

Patriotism

Another 12 more days to our 50th National Day...MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA!!!

Are you patriotic? What constitutes patriotism? From my own knowledge, there are:

  • Respect our flag
  • Respect our National Song (the original tune was derived from an old Hawaiian song titled 'Mamula Moon')
  • Do not condemn your own country (especially to outsiders)
  • Never be a traitor
  • Put up our national flag during Merdeka Day (at least I think that's what almost everyone does to show their love to our country during this period of the year)

I suppose there are more but basically these are all I could think of.

Admit it or not, all of us, whether you are Chinese, Malay, Indian or other races in Malaysia, one way or the other, we have criticise our government, complain about the unjustice of certain issues, condemn about our laws & practices and so forth.

Well, nothing is perfect in this world. Not a person, not a painting, not a car, and certainly not a government in any country. However, Malaysia is still a better place compares to many other countries. Hence, disatisfaction and frustration aside, we do love our country in many ways and we are proud to be Malaysian.

As a little person as I am (I always dub myself as 'Small Potatoe'), I don't really know what can I do to show my love or patriotism to my country, but I think I do have my own little approaches on loving my homeland by practicing what I've mentioned above as best as I could.

Malaysia is where I was born, where I've grew up, where I met my hubby, where I get married, where I have my wonderful life experience and most likely the place where I will grow old and pass away.

So, you tell me....how can I not love this country and not have any sense of patriotism towards it?

Face Dance

Saw this video the other day and it is way too funny and stupid.

You see, it really looks very stupid and brainless and I think there is absolutely nothing you can't find happening in Japan.

Very entertaining it is. I can't help laughing even I have watched it 5 times!

Enjoy! See how idiotic and retarded they look!

2nd Childhood?

Hmmm....I don't know about you, but I do find this kind of funny.

You see, when you are in your late (late) 20's and you suddenly start to associate yourself with a bunch of late teens for outing & clubbing sessions, don't you find it a bit peculiar?

Don't get me wrong here coz myself can talk well with people in any age groups but to hang out with the teenagers for clubbing when you are coming to your 30 soon, this is a little ...... hmmmm......

Teenagers and a person who is coming to their 3o, no matter what, they are on the different wave length, so either the teens act mature to match the much older person , or the other way round. But then again, it seems like both parties are totally enjoying each other companies, so what else can I say? Right?

P/S:
But, seriously, tell me....are you started having mid-life crisis already? Instead of dating much younger girls, you start hanging out with all the young guys? Or maybe this is your tactic to get to know teenage girls? :P

Or you merely want to enjoy your 2nd Childhood?

Happy Family!

14th August is my dad in law b'day and we went to a restaurant in The Curve for dinner.

I would say the food there are nothing great and the worst thing was....... most of the men in our family were still hungry after finished their meals. We ended up with 2nd round of food at the opposite mamak 'the teh tarik place' across .

Paid so much but not filling coz the portions were more like fine dining @ a cheaper rate, how pathetic is that!

The only thing we do appreciate and enjoyed was the ambiance and the setup of the entire restaurant.

We snapped some photos after our meal. My sisters in law call me 'Hao Poh' after she browsed back the pics we took. Coz they said I leaned againsts my hubby looked so 'Hiao' (gatal). Bleh! Both my sis in law are very bad, always like to teased me. But I love them loads still. :)

Bianca Ryan - You Light Up My Life (studio)

More of Bianca...

Bianca Ryan from America's Got Talent

Saw my friend's blog http://aprilcherrie.com/ about two talented singers which I've watched prior to her post. And I can't refrained myself from blogging about Bianca Ryan.

She is so amazing!!! And She is only 11 years old. Seriously I've not heard a voice like that from an 11 years old girl until Bianca.... She won the 'American Got Talent' competition and she has released her first album.

Way to go girl!

At Last!!!

Hahaha......we have broke our record today....despite of us prepared 9 trays of cupcakes today(usually is only 6 trays (with 42 cupcakes each), we have sold off everything at 4pm. The response was really crazy, which was really great for us. Even the organiser (Amcorp management) said that we are the envied of the other vendors coz we always get to sell off our products so early and get to go back early. What they don't know is....when we go home...we have to bake & decorate new batch of cupcakes for the next day... so no need to envy us, okay?
The funny thing was..... I tried to joked with Siew Li (my eldest sis in law the other sis in law).

Liz: "Siew Li, I didn't know we are giving out free cupcakes?"
Siew Li: "Huh? who says that?"
Liz: "@@, you mean we actually charged all the people just now?"
Siew Li: "........." (she gave me a blank (more of a blur) stare)
Aunty Jen: " Hey, you don't get the joke ah?"
Liz: " Ya la, hey, I was joking with you la...you didn't get the joke ah?
Aunty Jen: "Liz meant to says that the way the people responded were as thought we are giving out free cupcakes"
Siew Li: " Ohhhhhhhhhhh.....Hahahahahahaha!"
Liz: "Slow la you!" :oP
Anyway, I managed to snapped 2 pics (yes, only had time to quickly snapped 2 pics) with full table of cupcakes.

By the way, behind me is the karaoke system that our neighbour promoting. I became the 'Human Jukebox" again but only for short while coz today a lot of people sang. Free Karaoke, no need to pay a single cent and you can sing your heart out, that is if you have the guts to sing in the public with so many people loiter around.

Part Time @ Amcorp Mall?

Hiya.....this weekend have to resumed my part time job in Amcorp Mall.....hope my boss doesn't read this otherwise I might get a plate of "Fried Squid" from him (you know what I mean?).

Errrr.... actually I'm helping in my family business la......free labour (being exploited by my sis in law :P ) with only one meal and one drink provided.

Ok...Ok... I just made up the story myself, actually me & Keith (my hubby) are helping on our own free will. My sis in law offered to pay us but we refused, hence we just claimed back all the expenses spent on food, beverages & parking.

Before we reached Amcorp, I've told Keith that I wanted him to snap photo of me with our beautiful cupcakes so that I can upload it with this post. Mana tahu, there were sea of customers and we totally had no time to do anything except packed, served and collected money. And within 2 hours all cupcakes were sold out. So my sis in law and her the other (side of) sis in law have to went home and baked for 2nd round.

Thus, left me & Keith sat there with all the empty trays and a notice of "More Coming At 2:30pm". So, I thought, as soon as the 2nd round arrived, I must quickly snap the photo first.

During the waiting period, lots of customers were so anxious to buy our cupcakes and we had to tell them to come back later. There was some delay so the new batch of cupcakes only arrived at 3:30pm.

Here its come!! Yay!!! I can take photo now..... and DREAM ON....as soon as the customers spotted us with the new trays of cupcakes, we didn't even have the chance to arranged the cupcakes nicely on the serving trays. It was like a mad rush, as though we were giving out free cupcakes, everyone just started pointing and choosing from the big food tray (the type that you see in Pasar Malam). By the time we have satisfied our customers with our supplies of cupcakes and after arranged the cupcakes nicely on the serving trays....another batch of customers arrived..so in the end.....at 5:50pm....we already sold everything and tutup gerai (actually the Flea Market ends at 9:00pm).

So needless to say, I didn't get to take any pics in the end... So, I decided to just curi some pics from our website and post it here ler.

Marisa (my 2nd sis in law) & Siew Li (my eldest sis in law punya sis in law...???...I know it's complicated).

The Myths

What sort of myths have you been told by your parents, grandparents, religious member so far? And how many do you believe to the point that you really practice the ritual?

Heard about this topic from one of our local radio station this morning and many called in. Well, there were mixed responses to different myths.

I'm not so sure about other races and religions, but for Chinese, we have hell lots of myths from not to cut your hair (basically you are not suppose to cut anything) on the 1st day of CNY, no sweeping floor until the 2nd day of CNY (else you might sweep away all your wealth & luck), one who is getting married shouldn't attend someone else wedding if both weddings fall in the same month (some pantang larang thingy-lah), one should wear red underwear during gambling session (for 'Ong' reason), men shouldn't touch or wash women undies (even their own wives') coz would get bad luck (I wonder what difference does it make when you already touch it during all your love making sessions), and etc ( I can keep going but I think you have enough here ;P)

I don't really believe or give a hoot about all these myths actually, but some are better to follow for the sake of ours and/or our beloved well being coz no one would dare to do the opposite anyway. Of course lah, if something really goes wrong, who can you blame except yourself. And I refused to give people the pleasure of telling to my face, "I TOLD YOU SO!" Bleh!

But, my only concerns is my acne problem. There are many myths about the food intake that causes acne problems. I have read many articles and have watched many documentaries about acne problems related to food intake, Some experts tell you those are all myths, that acne has nothing to do with what you eat, but some say it does.

Base on my personal experience, what I can tell you is...listen to your own body. If you read about eating peanuts causes breakouts is a myth but somehow your acne gets worse after you pop some peanuts, then don't be so Doh-Doh Brain and continue, coz each person have different genes, DNA, hormone level and different health condition. What's harmless for others, might be a real KILLER to you....

This is my 2 cents based on personal painful experience...... guess I have to say goodbye to my beloved peanuts and there goes my all time favourite Peanut Butter Jam. Why some people can eat as much as they like but nothing happen??? Isn't it suppose to be just a MYTH? Not Fair....WAAAAAAA WAAAAA.......

So, what's the most bizarre myth you have ever heard?

Yummy...So I Was Told

This is my first pot of self cooked Claypot Chicken Rice.......

I've cooked this dish couple of times before but this is the first time I used the claypot. Last time used rice cooker only mah.

You see, there is a reason why the inventor of this delicious meal called it 'Claypot Chicken Rice' and not 'Rice Cooker Chicken Rice' nor 'Hot Wok Chicken Rice', coz you simply can't beat using claypot to cook this dish. Don't believe me? You can try to cook it with the rice cooker, but it
would not be as nice.

I really enjoy cooking a lot especially when people enjoy it loads!

What Is Your Heart Song?

Remember 'Happy Feet'? A bunch of penguins with their own heart songs?

I believe most of us do have a heart song. Well...at least I do.

"Hero' by Mariah Carey is one! This song has carries me through all the ups and downs in my life.

I still remember the first time I heard this song, I was at a very low pit of my life. Everything seems so meaningless & hopeless and I almost 'gave' up.

The moment I heeded the lyrics, it was as though I was struck by a lightning and the MIRACLE happened........My heart became lighter, my head became clearer and there was an unfamiliar strength surged through my entire body. That's was it!

Since then, this has been a song that lifted me when I'm weak, heals me when I'm hurt. And it also helps me to seek the inner self and know myself even better. Apparently, I am stronger than I thought I was. :)

Here's the lyrics:

There's a hero If you look inside your heart You don't have to be afraid Of what you are There's an answer If you reach into your soul And the sorrow that you know Will melt away

And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you

It's a long road When you face the world alone No one reaches out a hand For you to hold You can find love If you search within yourself And the emptiness you felt Will disappear

And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you

Lord knows Dreams are hard to follow But don't let anyone Tear them away Hold on There will be tomorrow In time You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along With the strength to carry on And you cast your fears aside And you know you can survive So when you feel like hope is gone Look inside you and be strong And you'll finally see the truth That a hero lies in you
